Abstract:

In this article, an attempt has been made to estimate the amount of sound transmission loss in a flat oval channel by applying the approach of Statistical energy analysis. Correct estimation of sound transmission loss in an air conditioning channel is of great importance due to the harmful effects of noise pollution in the environment on human health. Simulation with the Statistical energy analysis method is a powerful approach to estimate sound and vibration in problems in which we deal with complex and multi-part systems; is considered. In this method, first, a system is divided into several subsystems, and then by writing a matrix equation that includes the energy exchanges between subsystems and energy loss coefficients; It is investigated from the perspective of vibration and sound estimation. On average, the model presented in this research is able to estimate the sound transmission loss in different dimensions of the air conditioning channels according to the experimental results in the accuracy range of ± 2.5 dB. Considering that it seems that the results obtained from modeling with this method are in good agreement with the experimental data; The results of this research can be used as an efficient approach to estimate noise in oval shaped channels stretched in different lengths.

Abstract:

In order to identify the correlations and relationships between different traits in the bread wheat, 30 genotypes were investigated as sub-factors under the split plot experiment in the completely randomized design in greenhouse and the randomized complete block design in the field with three replications under the normal irrigation and post-anthesis water stress conditions. The results of the canonical correlation analysis showed that at both normal and moisture stress levels, there was a significant correlation between the pair of canonical variables obtained from the phenological traits and the yield components. Under the normal conditions in the greenhouse, to increase the spike density and length, the number of days to 50% flowering can be considered as a suitable selection criterion. According to the results of canonical correlation analysis, under the stressed conditions in greenhouse, to increase the spike length, the number of days to the heading, maturity and 50% of flowering were among the important and effective factors. Under the optimum irrigation conditions in the field, the number of days to maturity was considered as one of the factors influencing the seed weight per spike. The results of canonical correlation analysis under the field stress conditions showed that to increase the 1000-seed weight, the number of days to maturity can be considered an appropriate selection criterion.

Abstract:

Introduction and purpose: Despite recent efforts to identify microplastics in the aquatic environment worldwide, identifying the various sources of its release remains a challenging task. Understanding and identifying the different sources of aquatic pollution and the processes affecting them is essential for a comprehensive description of the quality of water resources. The aim of this study is therefore to introduce Statistical methods to determine the sources of microplastics in aquatic environments. Methods: This review article first identifies the pathways of microplastic entry into the aquatic environment, followed by an examination of four commonly used multivariate Statistical methods: Principal Component analysis (PCA), Cluster analysis (CA), Hierarchical Cluster analysis (HCA) and Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF). Results: Multivariate Statistical analysis can be used to determine different variables such as size, shape, color, and density of microplastics. It can also determine the sources of microplastics (domestic wastewater, industrial effluents, agricultural activities, surface runoff, air currents, etc.). It also identifies which variables have the greatest impact on pollution and suggests the best solutions to reduce pollution. Conclusion: the study of pollution based on multivariate Statistical analysis can provide important information on the main sources of microplastic pollution and the relative contribution of different sources in the aquatic environment, which can help to improve environmental management and reduce pollution.

AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate the validity, reliability and factor structure of the "How I Think" questionnaire to assess cognitive distortions in Iranian students. The present research design is descriptive and psychometric studies. The Statistical population of this study included all male high school students in city Dezful in the academic year 1399-1400, from which 316 students were selected by multi-stage random sampling and completed the How I think and Bass and Perry Aggression Questionnaires (for Convergent validity). Factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha and Pearson correlation were used to analyze the data using SPSS and AMOS 20 software. The results of factor analysis showed that the questionnaire consists of six factors and has good fit indices. The convergent validity of this questionnaire indicated a satisfactory correlation between the dimensions of the scale "How I think" with the Aggression Questionnaire (p <0.01). Cronbach's alpha and Split- half coefficients for the whole scale and its dimensions ranged from 0.66 to 0.92.The conclusion is that the Persian version of the "How do I think" questionnaire for measuring cognitive distortions in Iranian students has acceptable psychometric properties and can be used as a valid tool in research, educational and clinical situations.

Abstract:

Microstructure reconstruction from Statistical microstructure descriptors is a strong field of interest for researchers worldwide, due to its importance in material design. A new methodology is presented in this paper to reconstruct microstructure with a large number of representative volume elements. The proposed methodology provides a stable input for a deterministic method which can be used to simulate performance and effective properties. The Monte Carlo technique is used as the basis of the reconstruction methodology in this work. In this paper Statistical correlation functions are extracted from the images of the experimental samples. The proposed algorithm reconstructs new samples which has similar Statistical correlation functions in comparison to the experimental samples. The information of the geometric distribution of the nanotubes of the composites is stored in a database of the node locations of the unit cylinder segments and the corresponding waviness, Instead of using a discrete image matrix. These node locations are attractive results which can be utilized in the simulation software in order to obtain the properties of the studied composite. In this way, robust microstructures with a large number of representative volume elements were reconstructed for the future evaluation.

Abstract:

N-point correlation functions are used for calculating properties of heterogeneous systems. Power and main advantage of Statistical continuum technique is the direct link to Statistical information of microstructures. Two-point correlation functions are the lowest order of correlation functions that can describe the relationship between morphology and properties of microstructures. Statisticalpaircorrelationfunctionsareachievedbyscattering electron microscopy or small-angle X-ray scattering experimentally. Higher order correlation functions must be calculated or measured to increase the accuracy Statistical continuum approach. Microstructuretwo-pointcorrelationfunctionsarewell-knownclass of Statistical descriptors for characterization and reconstructionofheterogeneousmicrostructures. Inthisstudy، a comprehensive review on Statistical correlation functions that are used in micro and nanostructures is done and then، focused on reconstruction of these structures by using numerical and experimental approaches. Description and characterization of heterogeneous systems had high importance for scientists for last decades and di erent approaches have been developed for determining 3D descriptors of heterogeneous systems. Statistical continuum mechanics provided alternative approach for reconstruction and characterization of heterogeneous systems. Reconstructionapproacheshavebeenimproved by developing of numerous simulation techniques in recent years. Anisotropic structures، orientation distribution، shape، and geometrical features can be extracted from Statistical correlation functions. 3D reconstruction of microstructures and nanostructures is a new way to investigate the behavior of these structures precisely. In this method the distribution of nanoparticles is determined، and their coordinates are saved which is very helpful for determination of their treatment. Mani different researches have used reconstruction approach to enter their experimental samples to nite element software. Then، by applying the properties of each phase they investigate about di erent behavior of their experimental samples. Depended on samples di erent approaches are used for reconstruction and researches have tried di erent ways to reduce reconstruction error. In this study، di erent approaches are discussed، and the calculation of error is presented.

Abstract:

The current seismic risk assessment is based on two discrete approaches, actual and probable, validating afterwards the produced results. In the first part of this research, the seismic risk is evaluated from the available data regarding the mean Statistical repair/strengthening or replacement cost for the total number of damaged structures (180, 427 buildings) after the 7.9.1999 Parnitha (Athens) earthquake. The actual evaluated seismic risk is afterwards compared to the estimated probable structural losses, which is presented in the second part of the paper, based on a damage scenario in the referring earthquake. The applied damage scenario is based on recently developed damage probability matrices (DPMs) from Athens (Greece) damage database. The seismic risk estimation refers to 750, 085 buildings situated in the extended urban region of Athens. The building exposure is categorized in five typical structural types and represents 18.80 % of the entire building stock in Greece. The last information is provided by the National Statistics Service of Greece (NSSG) according to the 2000–2001 census. The seismic input is characterized by the ratio, ag/ao, where ag is the regional peak ground acceleration (PGA) which is evaluated from the earlier estimated research macro seismic intensities, and ao is the PGA according to the hazard map of the 2003 Greek Seismic Code. Finally, the collected investigated financial data derived from different National Services responsible for the post-earthquake crisis management concerning the repair/strengthening or replacement costs or other categories of costs for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims (construction and function of settlements for earthquake homeless, rent supports, demolitions, shorings) are used to determine the final total seismic risk factor.

Abstract:

Dear Editor, We are thankful to the referees Dr. Mohamad Amin Pourhoseingholi et al. and the Editor for pointing out some valuable suggestion and important notes needed in the manuscript. The major concern of reviewer was about the positive Hepatitis D patient. Due to high number of cases in our study, the prevalence of Hepatitis D is very low.1) The only positive Hepatitis D is a 31 year-old woman. We have mentioned that she was an Afghanian lady but we have considered her native because she has Iranian ID Card, although we have not assessed her ancestry.2) As the reviewer has mentioned, chi square test is impractical in the present study so fisher exact test is used. We have mentioned to this important note in the methods and conclusion sections.3) It has mentioned that repeated test is performed to assess association between Hepatitis D and Tatto. So P value of likelihood ratio is not reported and both of P values are related to fisher exact test.
